For the past three months, I'd been working hard to win Shauna's heart, making her tasty makanai, taking an interest in her books, engaging in small talk with her. Every time she approached the Sushi Bar to pick up her plate of sushi, I tried to talk to her and get her attention. Some days were successful, some days were not. Sunday was my day off, but sitting at my apartment only made me think about Shauna, so I got in my car, and visited her during the lunch shift, pretending I had something to do. I thought at first that she might get suspicious, but by the time I started driving, I did not care. I knew seeing Shauna, even for ten minutes on my day off, would make me feel better. I desperately wanted to find out, but the question was how? I knew she was still dating and living with her boyfriend, so she wouldn't just dump him and start dating with me. However, I was still hoping she liked me more than just a co-worker.
